CloudLabs Helps University of Florida Develop End-to-End Managed AI Training Courseware for K-12 Education
The University of Florida (UF), in partnership with the Florida Department of Education, launched the AI Foundations program to bring hands-on AI training to K-12 district schools across four courses covering AI fundamentals, applications, programming, and machine learning.
UF needed labs that were practical, compliant with COPPA and FERPA, and free from the barriers posed by Azure for Students, such as restricted access and non-renewable credits.
CloudLabs delivered a complete solution:
- Pre-built AI-900 labs with 17 modules, guides, and practice tests, shareable via a single URL
- 52 labs deployed across Florida district schools for 35-day instructor-led training
- CloudLabs supported UF in conducting professional development workshops, providing instructors with hands-on guidance and the tools they needed to confidently teach AI concepts in their classrooms
- Fixed-budget managed labs designed to support COPPA and FERPA compliance requirements
- Auto-grading and lab validation with detailed student performance reports
