Queen’s University, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, resides on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples. The university, founded in 1841, fosters a deeply integrated campus community actively contributing to the regional and local economy, social fabric, and culture. Over the years the institute has grown to educate 31,000 full- and part-time students, including 4,000 international students from 101 countries. Queen’s University faced unique challenges due to its diverse international student body. The students using Mac OS were required to access Windows OS machines for data analytics applications such as Power BI Desktop. Also, the university sought a platform to provision EC2 instances with hands–on lab environments featuring pre-installed tools and auto-alerts available. The pre-installed tools would facilitate smooth lab operations, while the alerts would help reduce lab costs.
