Stop testing memory.
Start measuring real skill.
CloudLabs replaces multiple-choice quizzes with live cloud environments where your engineers build, configure, and troubleshoot — exactly like they would on the job. Across 60+ technology domains, from Azure and AWS to Linux, networking, cybersecurity, and DevOps. Every task scored. Every capability proven.
Multiple-choice tests tell you who can memorize. They don’t tell you who can actually do the work.
The question bank runs out
Most organizations write 100–200 MCQs per technology and reshuffle them for two years. Veterans memorize the answers. New hires study the leaked questions. Nobody’s skill is being measured.
Passing ≠ capable
An engineer who can name the three states of an Azure VM may never have deployed one. MCQs reward pattern-recognition; production work demands design thinking, debugging, and execution under ambiguity.
Role stratification is guesswork
“Is this a Level-100 admin or a Level-200?” Traditional assessments can’t tell you. You end up staffing projects on hope, burning cycles on mis-matched resources, and losing margin.
Real environments. Real tasks. Real proof of skill.
We provision live, isolated cloud environments for every candidate — Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle, Microsoft 365, or any combination — and score their work by querying the actual infrastructure they build. No simulations. No shortcuts. No guessing.
Real cloud, not simulated
Every candidate gets a fresh, dedicated environment with unique credentials. No shared accounts. Expires cleanly when the window closes.
Automated task-level scoring
Each task is validated by querying the live environment — did they create the user, configure the route, deploy the service? Partial credit supported.
Hybrid format
One assessment combines hands-on lab tasks, lab-referenced MCQs, and knowledge quizzes. Separate scoring, unified view.
Assessment becomes learning
Failed an assessment? We serve the same scenario as a guided lab — complete it, re-sit a different variant. Closed-loop capability building.
Built in 2 weeks. Scaled to 50+ in 3 months.
A co-creation engagement: your SMEs define “what good looks like,” our technical team builds the lab environments, validations, and scoring logic. Parallel-tracked, not sequential — we can develop 5 to 10 assessments simultaneously once the model is set.
Scope & segment
We map your role levels (L100/L200/L300), target domains, and pass-fail thresholds. Output: a tiered assessment matrix — Bronze (ready), Silver (customization), Gold (build from scratch).
Week 1Build & validate
Our team engineers the lab environment, writes step-by-step tasks, builds automated validation scripts, and estimates per-assessment cloud cost so your budget has a ceiling.
Week 1–2UAT & refine
Your SMEs run the pilot assessment themselves, give feedback, we tighten scoring logic and task language. Sample reports reviewed and signed off.
Week 2Roll out & report
Candidates log into your white-labeled portal or LMS. Assessments are autopilot from here. Power BI dashboards give you per-person and organization-wide views.
Week 3+60+ technology domains, one platform.
We don’t own data centers. We orchestrate Azure, AWS, GCP, and Oracle — which means we can spin up practically any technology stack your teams work with, from Active Directory to Kubernetes to Copilot Studio. Tiers reflect our build effort, not your assessment experience.
Plus domains we’ll build to spec: specialized vendor products, custom ISV platforms, hardware-adjacent scenarios (delivered as point-and-shoot question formats when live execution isn’t viable).
Most “assessment platforms” are quiz engines with a lab module bolted on. We’re the other way around.
Three scenarios where CloudLabs is the category answer.
IT services & global consultancies
Validate thousands of engineers across 50–70 technology domains. Map skill levels to staffing decisions. Replace the reshuffled MCQ bank that everyone’s memorized.
Technical recruitment at scale
Stop hiring on resumes. Give shortlisted candidates a 60–90 minute real-world task, score it automatically, and interview only those who already proved capability.
Enterprise L&D programs
Pair every training track with a real-skill exit assessment. Close the loop between learning and proof. Export results into your LMS — or let CloudLabs be your white-labeled assessment hub.
The things teams actually want to know.
You do. We build each assessment as a set of discrete tasks, each with its own point value and partial-credit rules. You decide whether 70%, 50%, or 80% of total points means “pass” — and you can set different thresholds for different role levels. We give you the scoring infrastructure; the policy is yours.
Yes. In the same candidate experience, you can combine: step-by-step lab tasks, lab-referenced MCQs (“go check the cost in Azure — what’s the number?”), free-text entries, and standalone knowledge questions. Each has its own score and rolls up into one overall result.
Two weeks per assessment is the standard — one week to build and internally verify, one week for your team’s UAT and sign-off. But assessments can be developed in parallel, so a 50-assessment program is typically live within 8–12 weeks. Simple 30-minute, two-task scenarios can be delivered in a day.
It’s a co-creation model. For your first 10–20, our technical team builds them and trains yours on the admin portal. After that, it’s your call: maintain them in-house, keep us on retainer for professional services, or mix both. Either way, everything is built through the same admin portal, so there’s no hand-off cliff.
Our pricing has three parts: (1) flat platform fee based on monthly assessment volume, (2) a one-time build fee per assessment (often waived or reduced for repeat tiers), and (3) cloud infrastructure at cost. For the cloud piece, we estimate a maximum cost per assessment-run up front, so your budget has a hard ceiling. You can also bring your own Azure/AWS agreement and keep your existing discounts.
Yes — a Level-100 admin and Level-200 admin take different assessments. You can also set recommendation rules: if a candidate scores under X% on an L200 exam, route them to the L100 learning track first. The recommendation engine is wired to your org’s role taxonomy, not a generic one.
We always start with a proof of concept. Pick 2–5 technologies, we build those assessments, you give a pilot cohort access, we gather feedback. Typical POC runs 3–4 weeks. No long-term contract required to validate the fit.
We integrate with third-party proctoring APIs today and have AI-based proctoring rolling out mid-2026. Each candidate gets unique, isolated credentials that expire — no shared accounts, no account reuse. The lab environment itself is fresh per attempt.
Pilot with us. Pick two technologies. See the data.
A 3-to-4-week proof of concept. We build two assessments, your pilot cohort takes them, we walk you through the results together. No commitment beyond the pilot. If it doesn’t change how you think about skill measurement, we’ve wasted your time — and we don’t intend to.
Tell us a bit about your team and the technologies you want to assess. We’ll come back within one business day with a tailored pilot plan.
